“Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says the Lord. ”I will protect them from those who malign them” (Psalm 12:5, NIV).
This sad crisis touches many of our hearts, and it touches the Lord’s heart as well. He is ever on the side of the oppressed; He is a God of justice.
The Wellspring School of Leadership is teaming up with The Underground, a local group of committed Christians focused on ending the sex trade on the Turnpike, to host a prayer gathering Saturday, April 26, at Wellspring Church. Our purpose in this special service is to engage with the Lord for the rescue of these oppressed in our own towns.
We will be joined by special guest Jim Martin, Vice President of Spiritual Formation at International Justice Mission. Jim will be sharing the work of IJM and, more importantly, the need for any Christian standing for justice to remain intimately connected to the Father, the God of justice.
